Fletcher Carl Derrick Jr., M.D., 86, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Martha Langford Derrick, entered into eternal rest Monday, March 9, 2020. His funeral service will be held Friday, March 13, 2020 in First (Scots) Presbyterian Church, 53 Meeting St., at 2:00 p.m. Interment, Magnolia Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel, 232 Calhoun St. from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Fletcher was born August 24, 1933 in Edgefield County, South Carolina, son of the late Fletcher Carl Derrick Sr. and Ruby Ripley Derrick. 他出生在大萧条时期,他的父母失去了好工作. 他们在埃奇菲尔德县开了一家小杂货店,后来搬到了约翰斯顿的一家更大的商店, SC. He is survived by his wife, Martha Langford Derrick of Mount Pleasant, SC; one daughter, Martha (Mottie) Derrick Wieters (Paul) of Charleston, SC; one son, F. Carl Derrick III, M.D.(Melissa) of Beaufort, SC; eight grandchildren Eliza Rodrigue McElwee, M.D. (Tripp), Ronald R. Rodrigue, Jr., Derrick August Wieters, Owen Anderson Wieters, Heyward Fletcher Derrick, Crosson Bradford Derrick, Stuart Langford Derrick, Gabriela Sakzenian O’Quinn; one great-granddaughter, Louise Derrick McElwee; a sister, Betty Bland Dowd; and three nieces, Jewel Bland Carpenter, Cheryl Bland Brainard, and Sarah Bland Cleveland. He was predeceased by his grandson William James Derrick.
